A Winning Weekend

I am a homebody and unlike most of my family members, I get great pleasure from just being at home. It does not upset me one bit to spend a Friday evening on my couch, reading or looking at a movie. And, because I enjoy spending large amounts of my time enjoying my home, I want to make sure that it is the peaceful sanctuary I envision. So, I have begun the task of decorating the interior so that when I enter I am greeted by all of the things I love. After all, your home should be your little piece of heaven on earth.

In doing this, I have been perusing the internet looking for interior decorating ideas. Well, I stumbled upon one of the best interior decorating blogging sites on the www. It's called " Thrifty Decor Chick". Let me tell you, Ms. TDC, well she is certainly a girl after my own heart. I love DIY....and she is all about DIY and a deal!!! And yes, I also love a deal. Her home is exactly what I am trying to turn mine into and the thing about it, she did it herself. To me there is great satisfaction in doing your own decorating. And, her site makes it look like a piece of cake and fun.

Well, one thing that I fell in love with on her site was the picture wall she had in her family room with the shelves and family pictures. On my wall I want "Family...we may not have it all together, but together we have it all." The thing about it is I don't want to buy this from a company, I want to make it myself. I don't want to paint it on the wall, so I have been looking at machines that create word art and as bad as I wanted one I must tell you I was not yet ready to shell out the $300. To my surprise while perusing TDC's site today {while relaxing on my sofa :-)}, I found that she is giving away a Silhouette and I have "5" opportunities to enter the drawing. TDC and Silhoutte has got me to finally start blogging! This is entry #2.
